Day of Action - September 16, 2026
Colleagues,
On Wednesday, September 16, teachers and education workers across the Province will be standing together in support of strong, well-funded public education, and we want every school to be a part of this. Together, we can show the Ford Government and education workers across Ontario that Thames Valley members are standing strong!
Here is how your staff can participate:
Wear RED: Continue the incredible momentum of our Red4Ed campaign!
Make a sign: What does public education mean to you, your students, and your community? Share your thoughts!
Take a staff photo: Gather your colleagues, hold your signs, wear your red, and send your photo to the Local. We will share photos through our social media platforms and to ETFO Provincial to help demonstrate our solidarity across the province. Please include our Occasional Teachers also!
Invite our CUPE colleagues to join in! CUPE members are participating too, so alongside our sea of RED, we want to see a sea of PURPLE!
This is our opportunity to send a clear message to the Ford Government: we are united, we believe in public education, and we are prepared to stand up for it. We have a little incentive: Every staff that sends in a photo will be entered into a draw, and THREE lucky staffs will receive a staff lunch, delivered by your Released Team!
We’ve already shown through Red4Ed what we can accomplish when thousands of members act together. On September 16, let us make that solidarity visible across Thames Valley and across Ontario.
Wear RED. Bring your signs. Take your photo. Stand together.
In solidarity,
Mike Thomas,
President
ETFO Thames Valley Teacher Local
