New Teachers Orientation and Workshop
Location:
2911 Bateman Trail, London
This workshop is open to first-year teachers ONLY.
This practical and timely workshop addresses the many challenges that new teachers face daily when managing students, time, and curriculum. This workshop reminds us that we have far more control than we realize. Feelings of anxiety and stress are a normal part of teaching, but how we manage these emotions is critical to our success and the success of our students. When we effectively program and assess for student needs, we create conditions where students engage and succeed. Participants will explore the importance of mindset, student-teacher relationships, instructional design, and how to create learning environments where we support students’ social, emotional, and academic needs. We will share effective, yet simple-to-implement strategies to motivate, engage, and empower students to reach their potential.
